As one of the first results a math-material box,
a handbook and a video (DVD), available in all
partner languages, have been designed.math-material box with content

The wooden box contains various supportive materials for the development of the basic skills that assist numerical thinking, such as games for spatial orientation, for seriality, for categorisation and for the perception of forms. The sticks and boards – for adding, subtracting and multiplying –, and likewise the numerals, vividly accompany the calculating process. All of the materials are made of wood and are suited for group activities of individuals with Down Syndrome as they progress from childhood to full maturity.

In addition to suggesting various exercises for the basic skills, it offers exact step-by-step explanations of how to master calculating skills. The chapter "Life as it is!" with its clarification of "Money", "The Clock", "Measuring and weighing", establishes an intense link to everyday life. The 145-page handbook is designed for both parents and professionals. All of the suggestions for exercises and games are accompanied by photographs.
